Patient Participation Group

What is a Patient Participation Group (PPG)?

If you’re a registered patient, you can have your say by contributing to the Patient Participation Group (PPG). The PPG includes a committee which meets quarterly, together with a ‘virtual’ group, which receives minutes, news and contribute to gathering information.

What is a PPG?

A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of patients and GP practice staff who meet to discuss practice issues and patient experience to improve the service. The purpose of a PPG is to:

  • Provide a means for patients to be more involved and make suggestions about the healthcare services they receive
  • Explore issues from patient complaints and patient surveys, contribute to actions plans and help monitor improvements
  • Contribute feedback to the practice on National Patient Survey results and Friends and Family Test feedback, to propose developments or change
  • Support health awareness and patient education
  • Act as an independent ‘critical friend’ to the practice

You can access previous PPG meeting minutes at the end of this page.

What does it involve?

Being part of the virtual membership group does not take up a lot of your time, but it can make a big difference. It gives you the opportunity to provide vital feedback, which helps develop practice services.

PPG Committee meetings occur quarterly. There is also an Annual General Meeting, to which all patients are welcome to attend.

Who can join?

Any registered member of the Practice can join the virtual group and may be invited to join the Committee when vacancies occur.

We encourage diversity in our PPG, and therefore we are particularly looking for young people, workers, retirees, people with long-term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups to join us.

How do I join?

If you want to join our PPG, please complete this form and return it to the Practice reception.

Once the request is processed, we will get in touch with confirmation, usually within a couple of weeks. Please note: you do not need to provide any medical information as part of this application.

By signing up, you are confirming that you are happy for us to contact you using the details you have provided. You can opt out at any time by contacting the practice. Thank you for your assistance.
